Brand New Quad Core PC under ₹9000

Today’s post is about getting a brand new quad core High Definition PC for under ₹9000 Indian Rupees. We will be using “Raspberry Pi 3” as the CPU here. It has a quad core ARM processor and 1 GB RAM. Hence, it can run a Linux operating system very well. I recommend this PC for day to day use at home and also for small businesses.

Here are the things you need to buy. You may chose to buy them online and get it delivered to your home.

  1. 18.5 inches HDMI monitor – Micromax 18.5-inch LED Monitor(MM185HHDM1P3) With VGA Plus HDMI (Black )
  2. Raspberry pi 3 – Raspberry Pi Model B RASP-PI-3 Motherboard
  3. Micro SD Card 16 GB or more – SanDisk Ultra MicroSDHC 16GB UHS-I Class 10 Memory Card (SDSQUNB-016G-GN3MN)
  4. 2 Amp mobile charger – something like WireZone Samsung Fast Charger 2.0Amp – For Samsung Galaxy S6 J1 ACE J2 J3 J2 PRO J5 J7 Note 2 Note 3 Note 4 E5 E7 On7 On5 On NXT A5 A7
  5. USB Keyboard and Mouse – Zebronics JUDWAA 560 Multimedia USB Keyboard & USB Mouse Combo
  6. HDMI cable – WireSwipeTM HDMI Male to HDMI Male Cable TV Lead 1.4V High Speed Ethernet 3D Full HD 1080p (1.4 meter)

Preparing the Operating System on the micro SD card –

Using an existing PC, do the following –

  1. Download the Raspbian Operating System image for raspberry pi.
    1. Navigate to Downloads on and then select “Raspbian”.
    2. On the next page, download the zip file corresponding to “Raspbian with PIXEL – Image with PIXEL desktop based on Debian”.
  2. Download and install the Etcher software on your existing PC.
  3. Write the image to micro SD card
    1. Place the micro SD card on a card reader and plug it to your PC.
    2. Run Etcher.
    3. Click on the “select image” option.
    4. The storage device should be auto populated with the micro SD card location. If not, select it manually.
    5. Click on Flash and wait for the process to complete.
    6. Now, the micro SD card has the operating system required for the new PC. Remove the micro SD card.

Putting it together –

  1. Insert the prepared micro SD card in the appropriate slot on the Raspberry pi 3.
  2. Plug the 2 Amp Charger to the Raspberry pi.
  3. Plug one end of the HDMI cable to raspberry pi and the other end to the Monitor.
  4. Plug the USB Keyboard and Mouse to the USB slots on the Raspberry pi.
  5. Power on the monitor and the Raspberry pi.
